Stand Up for Life

If just one life is saved by switching to a Choose Life Idaho license plate, it’s worth it. Here’s Pat’s story:

Pat returned to her car to find a young girl standing by her car crying. The girl said she wanted to meet the owner to thank her for having a Choose life License plate, because it convinced her to choose life. The girl’s boyfriend was driving her to an abortion clinic, and she was praying about her decision to abort. He wanted her to have the abortion and was paying for it. She was afraid to tell her parents. While she was praying, she needed to use a bathroom and asked her boyfriend to stop at a nearby mall. She saw the Choose Life license plate, and she knew it was a sign. She told her boyfriend she would be right back, and she phoned her parents to come get her. When she returned to tell her boyfriend she changed her mind, he wasn’t there. She waited by Pat’s car to thank her. We may never know if our license plate is making a difference in someone’s life like this girl, but if one life is saved, it’s worth it.

Not only does the plate provide much needed funds to agencies helping women choose life, but they spread the message of life on the road. 

I went in to have my oil changed at a quick lube shop in town. The attendant came out to find out what I wanted and get my license plate. He came back and mentioned that he had noticed my license plate, and said he had a close friend who was six months pregnant, and her boyfriend was threatening her life if she didn’t get an abortion. He said he really didn’t know what he could do. He seemed so distressed. I told him that she had other options and could get counseling for free if she chose to do so.  I asked him if he would like the number of the Crisis Pregnancy Center, and he said yes. When he returned my car, I gave him a slip of paper with the number on it. He was grateful and thanked me. If I had not had a Choose Life license plate on my vehicle this interaction never would have happened. Whether or not the girl called the number or not, I sensed that God was using that license plate to communicate and allow that young man to enter into the conversation we did. Maybe a life was spared. Thanks for all your work on this project. May God encourage your heart and renew your strength.  (submitted by KG)
